The Texas-born rising star has had a major breakthrough over the past several years and has quickly become Hollywood’s latest heartthrob. Despite having a fully booked acting schedule, the actor has managed to have quite the whirlwind of flings and romances. Let’s have a look at Glen Powell’s relationship history.
Busy Friend, Busier Girlfriend: Nina Dobrev
In January 2017, rumors around Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev and Glen started to swirl. The unconfirmed couple posted photos of their New Year’s Eve celebration. The young starlets welcomed the New Year in Glen’s home state of Texas, so naturally, curiosities were piqued.
In late January, Glen was seen at the Los Angeles premiere of Nina Dobrev’s film “xXx: Return of Xander Cage” and they would make several more appearances together throughout the year. The stars would also be seen together at a Golden Globes afterparty before officially confirming their relationship in July.
The pair would also be seen again at Julianne Hough’s wedding in late July to hockey player Brooks Laich.
Back to the Friendzone
Glen and Nina attended a “LA LA Land”-themed birthday party in November where the duo dressed as Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling’s characters from the movie. Sadly, this would be one of the young couple’s last public hurrahs.

In late November, a source told “People” that the pair were taking some time apart while Nina returned to her rigorous filming schedule.
A source at E News reiterated that there hadn’t “been an official split” and that Powell is a “very easy-going dude.” The source also mentioned they had “cooled things off a little because of busy schedules” and Nina’s was particularly a “huge part” of why they chose to take a break.
The Hollywood couple had a fun run but ultimately decided to call it quits after a year.
Glen Powell and Nina Dobrev’s relationship started as a friendship and, luckily, remains that way today. In 2022, Dobrev was spotted at the London premiere of Powell’s film, “Top Gun: Maverick,” accompanied on the red carpet by her new boyfriend, Shaun White.
Playing the Field: Renee Bargh
After his quick fling with Dobrev, Glen Powell’s search for love would bring him to Australian TV host Renee Bargh.
The pair managed to keep their relationship mostly under wraps until they accidentally spilled the beans in November 2018.
Renee Bargh, “Extra” TV host, was seen at Powell’s 30th birthday celebration on November 9th. She appeared along with Hollywood friends like John Stamos, Rachel Bilson, and ex Nina Dobrev, to name a few. Tabloids quickly put two and two together and romance rumors started to fly. By the time the news was public, the couple had already been dating for six months.
Glen and Renee Bargh remained mostly private during their one-year romance. In 2019, Renee told “The Daily Mail” that her relationship with Powell had ended and she was looking for a “good Aussie boy.”
World’s Apart: Gigi Paris and Glen Powell’s Relationship
This relationship was Glen’s longest on record and went on from 2020-2023. Powell was linked to model Gigi Paris after they were seen taking a fairytale trip to Mexico together. One year after their romantic getaway, they would make it Instagram official.
The pair made several red carpet appearances together. Gigi even attended the premiere of “Top Gun: Maverick” with the leading man. Glen told “People” in August 2022 that his girlfriend Gigi sent him all the “thirst trap TikToks” that came after the release of the movie.
Powell would then go on to mention how special it was that Gigi and his family were there for the premiere.
My family and my girlfriend, they know how much this movie means to me and how much the cast means to me. Especially after we didn’t know if we were going to get to have a premiere or put it out in theaters, to have that celebration together, especially with my family who sacrificed so much for me to even pursue this dream, [was] incredible.

A Bittersweet End
The following year, Paris would visit Powell while he was filming “Anyone But You,” but the duo ultimately decided to end things for good during this visit. In April 2023, a source told People that things had actually been off and on since Powell’s role in “Top Gun”.
Gigi and Glen had broken up several times. They had been on the rocks since “Top Gun” came out. Gigi was never happy with the long-distance filming, and when she came to Australia, they both decided to break up for good.

Another source confirmed Gigi was never happy with their conflicting schedules, saying, “It wasn’t about infidelity. [Paris is] on different coasts modeling, [Powell is] on different coasts filming. When she left, they were on great terms.”
After the breakup, Gigi Paris would post a video on Instagram with the caption “know your worth & onto the next.” Though technically cryptic, most of the internet took this as an official break up announcement.

False Alarm: Sydney Sweeney
The latest chapter of Glen Powell’s Lothario era involves “Anyone But You” costar Sydney Sweeney. But it would turn out to be not really much of a chapter at all.
Sydney and Glen filmed the rom-com “Anyone But You” in Australia, and the chemistry between the two was hard to miss even if you tried. Glen Powell’s girlfriend, Gigi Paris, was still in the picture around this time, but the relationship was soon to meet its demise.
The romance rumors surrounding the rom-com co-stars and their obnoxiously smitten and flirty behavior that followed would only add fuel to the tabloid fire.
Naturally, infidelity rumors between Sydney and Glen started to swirl. It’s speculated that this might’ve pushed Gigi Paris and Glen’s relationship to its end.
Powell admitted in December 2023 to Business Insider that the co-stars’ flirtatious promotional tour was actually planned by Sydney Sweeney herself. Powell said:
I’ll pretty much give Sydney all the credit for this. I don’t have the mental capacity to pull anything like this off, but she’s very smart. She’s very smart. I had such a wonderful journey with her on this thing.

Fake Love, Real Breakup
The actor would also get pretty candid in the interview. Powell told Business Insider he was fresh off his split with Paris, so it was difficult for him to play a flirty role on the press tour:
The only reason it made things harder for me to lean into that stuff was that I was going through a very real breakup amidst a promotional tour. I was with someone that I really loved and cared about and was trying to kind of make sense of a lot of stuff. It was a lot easier for Sydney to lean into something like that. She’s in a very committed and wonderful relationship, and she’s very happy. So it was a little harder for me.

Powell told Entertainment Weekly that his split with Paris led him to fatherhood. While the actor was filming Twisters in Enid, Oklahoma, he decided to finally pull the trigger on adopting a dog. The new father would leave the state with his beloved new fur son, Brisket.

Glen Powell’s dating history seems to be the topic on everyone’s mind but his own nowadays. The dating life of Hollywood’s latest hunk is always a hot topic, but Powell is shaking things up a bit by putting this side of his life on hold for now.
He might be on to something with love hiatus, too.

In an interview with CBS Mornings, Powell told Gayle King he’s currently career-oriented and not really focused on dating. He went on to explain that everything is “moving so fast” in his life right now that it would be hard to bring someone in a “healthy way.”
Glen would add that he’s “not chasing love” but is open to it:
If love comes and hits me in the face and knocks me over, I welcome it with open arms. That’s something I really want. You know, it’s like—even just being with my niece and nephew today, it’s like, I really want kids.

The role of a “Hollywood heartthrob’s girlfriend” is not an easy one to fill. Powell’s dating history has seemingly taught him this major lesson. He might be a hopeless romantic, but for now, Powell is shifting his focus towards himself and opting to be patient in his love life.
